Standel 430-S
I have a bunch
of guitars, most of which I actually use, as well as some other
interesting instruments.
The guitar
here is a Standel 430-S, designed by Sam Koontz (a New Jersey builder)
and built by Standel in California. I bought the guitar new in 1972.
The pickups
are single-coil DeArmonds, the body appears to be maple ply top
and back, a solid mahogany rim (I think), and a mahogany neck. I
had the fingerboard re-radiused and re-fretted by Rocco over at
Mandolin Brothers, and the action is incredible.
The guitar
has an interesting sound, very smooth and bell-like.
